Winter weddings in Jo’burg are quite rare, but I was privileged to witness the beautiful (and sometimes a little emotional) wedding of Leani & Charl at The Cradle on the 29th of June.

Charl, an Architect, met Leani, a Graphic Designer, at their church where he was playing in the band. A very talented couple they are for sure!  Leani designed all their wedding stationery herself and it really complimented the simplistic, modern decor & flowers, done by Ruby Rain. Leani looked amazingly calm as she came walking down the aisle with her Dad. Seeing Charl with tears in his eyes as he was about to receive his bride made me choke up completely and I had to fight the lump in my throat throughout most of the ceremony!!

Weather-wise it was a lovely day, despite the fact that it was/is winter and we had the most gorgeous, soft golden winter light to work with for their couple shoot – good for my soul!
