Jo’burg Botanical Gardens

24 March, 2010  |  Personal

We had the afternoon off on the supposedly Public Holiday (Human Rights day) which we decided to spend relaxing and went for a walk in the Jo’burg Botanical Gardens. It’s just around the corner from where we live.

There was a storm building up, as it often does in the late afternoons in Gauteng, so there was a chilly breeze which reminded me that winter is on its way…I’m not a winter person. I just don’t like being cold and freezing all the time. But this is where I was reminding myself that each season has something beautiful and special that should not be taken for granted. So as we strolled around the gardens, I was on the lookout for things like changing colours of the leaves but could not find too many. It’s probably a little too early still.

I realised that this is such a nice location for E-sessions and got excited about the session for Antionette and Brendan that we’ll be doing here in May. The Gardens have many fountains and green terraces built with natural stone. By then these gardens will have properly transformed into an Autumn wonderland. Can’t wait!
