Antoinette & Mladen had such a beautiful wedding day at Shepstone Gardens on the 21st of January.

If you haven’t seen Part 1 of their day, what are you waiting for?! After their ceremony it was time for the couple shoot, the time of the day which I get really excited about! We got to take some really great pictures of the two of them together, for the first time as newly weds! I loved to see how Mladen just adores his Bride, Antoinette.

They made a pretty awesome entrance too!

It was my first wedding of 2012 and I couldn’t help to be nervous and excited at the same time….

Antoinette & Mladen had only been engaged for 3 months by the time their wedding day arrived. I didn’t know this until it was mentioned in their speeches almost at the end of the day (!!), but it amazed me what they managed to put together in such a short time! Their venue decor was exquisitely done by Atomicorchid at the magical Shepstone Gardens in Houghton. I was in awe, to say the least, when I saw Antoinette’s wedding dress and it looked even more beautiful when she wore it. Gail from Here&Hair created a beautiful upstyle for her, incorporating her favourite flowers – Orchids.

I had the awesome opportunity to second shoot for Laura Jane in December 2011. Yes, this post is loooong overdue!

Soretha & Michael’s wedding took place in Cullinan, a small adorable, diamond mining town east of Pretoria. Their church ceremony was held in a little chapel that was apparently designed by Sir Herbert Baker and it was followed by their reception at JanHarmsgat. I was so excited about this venue as it has so much detail, and I LOVE detail! It almost has a rustic gypsy-like feel with the multi coloured drapings, chandeliers and bunting.

My first contact with the Malt-family was when Alexander e-mailed me in August 2011. He explained that they are a Danish couple with a 1 year old boy, who’ll be in Johannesburg over Christmas time and that they’d like to have some pictures taken.

Over the following few months after his first mail, I got to “know” a little bit more about this family. How the two of them, Jeanette & Alexander met and how life took them on a travelling journey where they ended up living in Johannesburg, South Africa for 3 years. They fell in love with Melville, bought property and Jeanette fell pregnant. It wasn’t all as easy as it sounds here, but what matters most is that they are as happy as can be with their golden child, Caspian, living back in Denmark now.

Mbali & Fanfan’s wedding day was almost like a renewal of vows for them. You see, they have been legally married for about a year and had their traditional ceremony in December 2010. Read more about their story and see their E-shoot pics here. I can only imagine this must have been so special to them after a year of being married. Elandré & I arrived at Thaba ya Batswana and as expected for this time of the year, it was hot-hot-hot. But the beautiful decor and excitement in the air quickly made us forget about the heat. Mbali’s dress from Lady Marmalade was just exquisite and fitted her perfectly. To save some time, after photographing her accessories, we were taken to where the guys got ready in a golf car.(it was a little far to walk). When we got back at the girls’ dressing room, it was time for Mbali to get into her gorgeous dress, put on some perfume and go to get married! Enjoy the pics…

After their ceremony, inbetween the mingling of guests, I noticed that I didn’t hear much of what I thought would be African languages being spoken. So the bridal party taught us some French! Say “Fromage!”

Hiermee dan deel 3 van Sabbie en Rias se troue! Gaan kyk gerus na deel 1 en deel 2 ook as jy dit nog nie gesien het nie. Hoop julle geniet die foto’s…

Oorspronklik sou ons vir hulle couple shoot foto’s Potch toe gery het, maar het toe daarteen besluit om tyd te spaar en die nabye omgewing eerder te benut. Ek was so opgewonde toe die trop beeste ons join!

Hulle pragtige troukoek was deur Sabbie se Ma, Poelanie gemaak.

Die mooiste atmosfeer was geskep deur die liedjie “Kan ek met jou dans” van die Straatligkinders, waarop die dansbaan geopen was…en daarna het die partydjie behoorlik begin!

Sabbie & Rias, hoop julle het sovêr ‘n heerlike honeymoon! 

As jy nog nie Deel 1 van Sabbie en Rias se foto’s gesien het nie, gaan kyk gerus hier. Ons het hulle groot dag begin deur die tafel details af te neem waar die proteas en desert rose my hart gesteel het.Rias-hulle het reggemaak by die venue en hulle foto’s is deur Stephan geneem terwyl ek by die girls besig was. Hulle seremonie het plaasgevind in die kapel wat uitkyk oor die Vaal rivier – ‘n asemrowende, rustige natuurskone omgewing.

Sabbie en Rias se groot dag het uiteindelik aangebreek! Hulle was verloof vir 2 van die 4 jaar wat hulle mekaar ken en het ontmoet deur ‘n vriend van Sabbie wat hulle aan mekaar voorgestel  het.  Tussendeur al die troue beplanning en mekaar min sien (Rias werk reeds in Namibië) het Sabbie hierdie jaar klaargemaak met haar graad in aptekerswese – Beslis beprysenswaardig! Baie liefde, moeite en aandag was ingesit deur vriende en familie, wie se hulp ingespan was om ‘n baie persoonlike gevoel aan hulle dag te gee. Ek was mal oor die shabby-chic-vintage gevoel van elke detail van hulle tafel versierings tot Sabbie se asemrowende trourok!

We did Ingrid & Edward’s E-shoot on Monday, for which they found a very interesting spot overlooking Glen Marais in Kempton Park. 

This will apparently go down in their history as the first photo shoot together…that’s awesome! You two make such a lovely couple and I’m sure your wedding day is going to be great beyond words! Enjoy the pics!

Mr&Mrs 2 be…

a Quick one from Ingrid & Edward’s E-shoot yesterday.

Ingrid had been studying for the past few days (or shall I say weeks) before their shoot. She wrote her last exam of this year, yesterday and I can imagine that she was relieved to just relax and have a little fun instead of having to get in front of the books again. I have such respect for people who study while working full day!

They will be getting married in April 2012 after which, hopefully, they can take a nice long break!
